For Long-Term Leadership Success, Focus On Your Wellness First
Every person who ever led a team, company, or corporation has their own beliefs about what it takes to be successful in that leadership role. And, nobody is “wrong” or “right”.
However, sometimes leaders get a little short-sighted over a very important ingredient in their success recipe...Their own wellness, otherwise known as work-life balance.
Because I’ve coached leaders through this area frequently as of late, I figured it was time to share a tool to help improve the odds of “feeling” more successful.
Click to watch the video I just shot about it.
Use it at your own pace to identify your stressors along with ways you can improve your feelings of wellness in those areas.

Hi, everybody, how are you?
So I'm walking on the Roanoke Greenway today.
I felt like all of the videos that I tried to record at my desk were a little stiff and a little performance-y. So I figured that walking along a trail with my gimbal would help me just concentrate on the things that I've been thinking about.
I'm Cory Colton, from Inflection Point Coaching. And here's what I'm thinking about today.
So, I'm thinking about all of you leaders out there, who for the past 18 months have been focused on ensuring that your goals are met.
Ensuring that you are delivering on everything you need to deliver on for the corporation and for your team.
I'm thinking about how all of you have been so focused on your team members, making sure that they knew what they needed to do to succeed.
Making sure that they had what they need to succeed.
Making sure that you were keeping the team together as they were working remotely or in a hybrid fashion.
And I'm thinking about all of the things that you've had to do for the last 18 months and how much energy that takes.
I used to be one of you, I used to lead a very large team. So I know what that means.
And I'm just wondering today, what it takes for you to feel like you are succeeding.
What does it take for you, as an employee and as a human being to feel like you can have that sense of balance, to feel like you have a whole person perspective on your leadership so that you can rest and refresh?
And I know that's hard because you're still delivering on goals, you're still taking care of your teams.
But you can't give your team anything, you can't give your company anything unless you have refilled your own coffers.
And so there's a way I might be able to help with that.
I created this self-coaching tool called the leader wellness and balance box. And it's a pretty easy process where you can think about tasks and items in different quadrants of your life and in your professional life to see where it is that you might be able to let go of some of the things that you've been doing.
Maybe put some on the backburner.
What things have been happening that you need to focus on more intently?
And where do you need to go, what do you need to do to refresh yourself? To renew your energy? To have more time to make sure that you're balanced and happy?
I'm happy to share this with you. I would love to send it to you.
All you have to do is click on the link below or send me an email at cory@inflectionpointcoaching.net. And I'd be happy to send you the tool and to schedule some time to debrief (after you use it) if that would be helpful as well.
Because I know that you cannot be an effective leader if you're not giving yourself the time and the space to be a balanced and effective human being.
So that's what I'm thinking about. And I'd love to be able to help all of you, so reach out at www.inflectionpointcoaching.net and let me know what you need.
Talk to you soon and have a great day.
